My Services

The most important part of my practice is that you feel valued as you are, honored as a person, and safe in our sessions. My adult and teen practice is based in a client centered approach, which is.a safe non judgement non directive approach.  You are always in charge of your session.  Since no approach meets all needs,  I am able to utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family Systems, Trauma Informed, and various other approaches when called for. I am able to work with folks who are challenged by grief and loss, trauma recovery, anger management, social challenges, depression/ anxiety, divorce/separation, addictions, LGBTQ and ally support.

For the younger set, I specialize in using play and toys to open up communication at the child's developmental level. Play therapy is to children what counseling is to adults. Play therapy utilizes play, children's natural medium of expression, to help them express their feelings. Play therapy teaches children the words to label and recognize their feelings. It improves their self-concept, reduces anxiety and initiates behavioral changes. By making appropriate choices in the playroom, children find solutions to problems and learn self control which leads to taking responsibility for their actions.  When children feel empowered to grow, they do

I can provide therapy when you need it, right from home. I can work with you through FaceTime and video conferencing, or phone for counseling and therapy. I can use Zoom, a HIPAA compliant private platform for your continued privacy or discuss what platform you feel most comfortable with.

There is no magic potion or one size fits all approach for couples.  But the goal for all couples is to have a healthy relationship. I believe our history in our family of origin impacts how we interact with our family we build.  We all come to relationships with own assumptions and narratives which can lead to conflict. While we won't eliminate all conflict, you can learn to communicate and respond to difficult emotions that leads to a healthy interactions. I will help you become more aware of your own interactions and feelings and  respond to your partner's interactions and feelings in a safe, non judgmental environment. Couples Therapy is for partners who want to work through communication, parenting, or intimacy, broken trust, or building a stronger relationship.

It is my philosophy that no one in a family is isolated. Disruption with one family member almost certainly affects the rest of the family. Often treating the whole family unit is the best way to heal. Family therapy can be most appropriate for families experiencing change, birth of a new baby, adoption, blending families, divorce, grief, alcoholism and addictions, and more.
